Mrs. Paulette Walker

Paulette H. Walker was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was educated in the New Orleans
Public School System. A graduate of John F. Kennedy Sr. High School, Walker earned a Master
of Arts Degree in Education from Dillard University, and a Master's Plus 30 hours in School
Administration and Master's Plus 30 hours in School Guidance Counseling , Xavier University
at New Orleans.

During her years as a classroom teacher of science(Middle School) Walker earned teacher of
the year in 1978, 1979 and 1985.She served as school counselor, school assistance principal, and went on to become Principal and Middle School Coordinator for the Principals Association of New Orleans Inc. (PANOPSI).

Notable Accomplishments and Achievements


In 2000, she was the recipient of the governor of Louisiana ‘s Character Education Program
Award for her GRACE (girls reachable and challenged everyday school suspension prevention
program for girls). Walker has sat on several boards including the Tangi Charter School Board,
Ponchatoula Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Board where she served as the very first
chair, Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners, serving as public member.
Walker is the founder and president of the Tangipahoa Black Business Chamber of Commerce,
founder and president of the Ponchatoula Nizhoni Women’s Group, President of the Sister’s
Circle Church Ministry at Greater Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church of Hammond,
Louisiana. Walker is the founder and developer of TAAWN Tangi African American Women’s
Network. Walker is a crystal DOVE and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., where she has
served 54 years, an author of 4 books, CEO of MOONFLOWER Lips LLC.
Walker currently serves as school disciplinarian, and 504 school coordinator, at Natalbany
Middle School.
